Boys Track Roundup: City High Places Fourth at Dr. Brooks Relays at West Des Moines Valley

Ry Threlkeld-Wiegand won the 1,600 and City High added a title in the 4×200 relay on its way to a fourth-place team finish at the Dr. Brooks Valley Relays at West Des Moines Valley High School on Saturday in West Des Moines.
Defending 4A state champion West Des Moines Valley won the team title with 175 points followed by Ankeny Centennial with 140 and Southeast Polk with 106.
City High was fourth with 95 while Des Moines East was fifth with 93.5.
Threlkeld-Wiegand won the 1,600 in a time of 4:37.28 while the City High foursome of
Max DePrenger, Kaleba Jack, Jovan Harris and Dahron Fouch won the 4×200 in 1:33.63.
City High got runner-up finishes in both the 4×100 and 4×800.
Daniel Brown, Carter Seaton, Harris and DePrenger finished second in the 4×400 in a time of 3:31.59 while the City High 4×800 team of Taylor, Threlkeld-Wiegand, Owen Jones and Brown were second in 8:13.73.
Noah Kabat placed fourth in the 800, Jones was fourth in the 1,600, Oisin Leopold was fourth in the 110 hurdles, Griffen Vogelgesang was fourth in the 400 hurdles and Tevon Williamson was fourth in the high jump.

Stein Leads Regina at Assumption Invite
Luke Stein finished runner-up in the shot put and third in the discus to pace Regina at the Davenport Assumption Invite on Saturday at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois.
Stein was runner-up in the shot put with a toss of 48-10 ½ and third in the discus with a mark of 149-6 as Regina tied for eighth in the team standings with 35 points.
Dubuque Wahlert won the team title with 155 points followed by Rochelle with 83 and Orion with 61.
Theo Kolie was third in the long jump with a leap of 19-2 ½ and Russell Hingst placed fourth in the shot put for Regina.
The Regina foursome of Nick Wagner, Henry May, Carson Jensen and Jack Goedken placed third in the distance medley relay in 3:56.86.
