Solon swept the throwing events on its way to a fifth-place team finish on Monday at the Williamsburg Raider Invitational in Williamsburg.

Rocky Lensing won the shot put with a toss of 53-1 and Hayes Dierson earned a title in the discus with a mark of 142-9 as Solon finished with 61 points.

Host Williamsburg won the team title with 111 points followed by WAMAC conference rivals Benton Community with 92 and Vinton-Shellsburg with 86.

Den DeValk finished runner-up in the 1,600 for Solon in a time of 5:10.51 and the Solon 4×100 relay team of Jackson Pipolo, AJ Coons, Adam Bock and Jace Andregg added a runner-up finish in 45.66
