Regina and West Branch battled for the River Valley Conference South Division crown until the final game of the regular season. 

The point guards and leaders of those team teams picked up big postseason honors on Thursday.

Regina junior Masen Miller and West Branch senior Beau Cornwell each earned RVC Elite team honors as West Branch and Regina each had four players earn all-conference recognition after finishing first and second in the South Division standings.

Miller and Cornwell headlined the area selections as unanimous selections to the 10-member Elite Team that honors the top players from both the North and South Divisions.

Miller earned Elite Team honors after ranking second among RVC players with 20.2 points per game while helping the Regals claim the South Division title.

The junior point guard shot 43 percent from 3-point range while hitting an RVC-leading 90 3-pointers, tied for the team lead with 4.5 rebounds per game and led Regina with 3.4 assists per game.  

Cornwell was named to the Elite Team for the third straight season after ranking fourth in the conference in scoring at 19.4 points per game.

The 6-foot-2 senior point guard led West Branch with 7.8 rebounds 3.5 assists and 2.8 steals per game.

Regina senior Bryce Barnett and sophomore Ashton Cook were both named to the South Division team while Regina coach Jared Galpin was named South Division coach of the year.

Cook ranked second on the team in scoring (13.2 points) and tied for the team leading in rebounding (4.7) while leading the Regals with 27 blocked shots.

Barnett averaged 11.8 points and 3.1 rebounds for Regina.

West Branch seniors Ted Bridges and Brady Lukavsky were also named to the South Division squad.

Bridges averaged 11.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while Lukavsky averaged 10.1 points 2.3 steals and 2.2 assists per game.

Regina senior Scotty Arendt and West Branch junior Trey Eagle were both honorable mention selections.
