Boys Basketball Roundup: Liberty High Stops Skid With Overtime Win

Liberty High snapped a four-game losing skid with a 55-53 overtime win over Cedar Rapids Jefferson on Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division matchup in North Liberty.
Ethan O’Donnell led three Liberty High players in double figures with 14 points as the Lightning improved to 7-11 with the win.
Grayson Tyler had 12 points and Isaac Bender added 11 as Liberty High earned its first victory since January 18.
Raejzuan had 15 points and Willie Guy had 14 for Cedar Rapids Jefferson which dropped to 8-9 with the loss.

West Branch Rolls Past Wilton
West Branch bounced back from its loss to Regina on Wednesday with a 73-47 win over Wilton on Friday in a River Valley Conference South Division contest in Wilton.
Beau Cornwell scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed four rebounds as West Branch improved to 15-4 on the season and 14-4 in RVC play.
Brady Lukavsky had 15 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals while Zach Thompson had 13 points and five assists in the win.
Trey Eagle added seven points and four steals for the Bears.
Aston Stoelk had 20 points and Jared Townsend had 15 for Wilton which dropped to 4-17 and 2-17 in RVC play.

Keegan and Kris Murray combined for 37 points as Class 4A No. 10 Cedar Rapids Prairie snapped a two-game City High winning streak with a 68-47 win over the Little Hawks in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division matchup in Iowa City.
City High dropped to 5-13 on the season with the loss while Cedar Rapids Prairie improved to 14-3 with its seventh straight win.
Keegan Murray had a game-high 21 points while Kris Murray added 16 for the Hawks.
Byron Benton led City High with 13 points while Ry Threlkeld-Wiegand and Liam McComas each had eight for the Little Hawks.
