Girls Basketball Roundup: West Branch Gets Road Win at West Liberty

West Branch overcame a slow start to down West Liberty 45-27 in a River Valley Conference South Division matchup on Tuesday in West Liberty.
The Bears trailed 11-5 after the opening quarter but held West Liberty to 16 points over the final three quarters while improving to 8-2 on the season and 6-2 in RVC play.
West Liberty dropped to 2-7 on the season and 1-7 in RVC play.
Sasha Koenig scored a team-high 15 points and added nine assists and five rebounds to lead West Branch.
Taylor Thein added 10 points, four rebounds and three steals while Rylan Druecker had five points and four steals.
Taya Young had seven points and four rebounds.

Cedar Rapids Washington Stays Unbeaten With Win Over West High
Class 5A No. 11 Cedar Rapids Washington edged West High on Tuesday to remain unbeaten on the season and the Warriors needed a season-high scoring output to do it.
Sammy Mia had 19 points to lead five players in double figures as Cedar Rapids improved to 7-0 with an 82-73 win over No. 8 West High on Tuesday in Cedar Rapids.
Caitlin Riley had 17 points, freshman Hannah Stuelke had 15, Sydney Mitvalsky added 12 and Isa Truemper had 11 as the Warriors earned their first won of the season over a ranked opponent.
West High dropped to 5-2 on the season despite a team-high 19 points from Audrey Koch.
Lauren Zacharias had 16 points and seven assists, Cailyn Morgan had 14 points and freshman Emma Ingersoll-Weng chipped in with 12 points for the Women of Troy.

No. 9 Prairie Too Much for Liberty High
Liberty High fell to Class 5A ninth-ranked Cedar Rapids Prairie 61-19 on Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference matchup in Cedar Rapids.
Cedar Rapids Prairie improved to 5-2 on the season while Liberty High dropped to 2-6 with its fourth consecutive loss.
Isabel Smith, Sam McPherson, Jenna Saunders and Cora Saunders all had three points for Liberty High.
Sarah Schmitt led Cedar Rapids Prairie with 16 points.
