Girls Basketball Roundup: West Branch Falls to No. 7 Bellevue in Battle of Ranked RVC Teams

There is only one remaining unbeaten team in the River Valley Conference.
Bellevue made sure of that on Friday.
Class 2A seventh-ranked Bellevue remained unbeaten with a 46-40 win over No. 14 West Branch on Friday in an RVC cross-divisional matchup in Bellevue.
The Comets improved to 8-0 on the season and 6-0 in RVC play while West Branch dropped to 6-2 and 5-2 in RVC action.
Mackenzie Heise led West Branch with 10 points while Taylor Thein added nine points and three rebounds.
Taya Young had nine points and five rebounds for the Bears.
West High Knocks Off Linn-Mar
Class 5A eighth-ranked West High pulled way in the second half for a 67-51 win over Linn-Mar on Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division matchup in Marion.
West High improved to 5-1 on the season and 4-0 in MVC play while Linn-Mar dropped to 2-6 and 1-3 in MVC contests.
Cailyn Morgan led four West High players in double figures with a game-high 22 points while Lauren Zacharias and Audrey Koch each had 15 points.
Freshman Emma Ingersoll-Weng added 12 points and seven rebounds.
Morgan had nine rebounds while Koch had eight rebounds for West High while Koch and Ingersoll-Weng each had three assists.

Regina Wins Second Straight
Kennedy Wallace scored a game-high 26 points and Sam Greving added 13 as Regina rolled past Northest 65-26 on Friday in a River Valley Conference cross-divisional matchup in Goose Lake.
Regina improved to 4-3 on the season with its second consecutive win and moved to 4-2 in RVC play.
Northeast dropped to 2-6 on the season and 1-6 in RVC play.
