Vaughan, Paulsen, Pereira Named to Academic All-State Volleyball Team

A trio of area players were selected to the Iowa Girls Coaches Association Academic All-State volleyball team announced this week.
Kaylee Paulsen of City High, Amelia Pereira of Clear Creek Amana and Riley Vaughan of West Branch were all named to the team that honors that top scholar athletes in each sport.
Honorees are seniors that have a minimum composite score of 27 on the ACT and a grade point average of 3.75 or higher.
Vaughan led West Branch with 748 assists and had 172 digs to help the Bears to a 24-15 record and a spot in the Class 2A regional semifinals.
Pereira ranked fourth on the team at Clear Creek Amana with 89 kills and was fourth with 17 blocks.
