Volleyball Roundup: Clear Creek Amana Sweeps Oskaloosa in Postseason Opener

A nearly two-week break proved to be just what Clear Creek Amana needed to get ready for the postseason.
At least that’s how it looked on Tuesday.
Clear Creek Amana snapped a three-match losing skid with a 25-14, 25-21, 25-21 sweep of Oskaloosa in a Class 4A, Region 7 quarterfinal on Tuesday in Tiffin.
The Clippers improved to 26-14 with the win in its first action since dropping a pair of matches as the WAMAC conference tournament on October 11.
Clear Creek Amana will travel to seventh-ranked Pella (30-6) for the Region 7 title game on Monday at 7 p.m.
Calia Clubb had a team-high 15 kills while Shauntina Williams added seven kills and 13 digs for Clear Creek Amana.
Cheyaenne Bunch had 29 assists and 13 digs while Lauren Riggle added 12 digs and Jordan Neely had 10 digs for the Clippers.
Liberty High Drops Heartbreaker to Marion
Marion dug itself out of a two-set hole to earn a 18-25, 20-25, 26-24, 25-19, 15-11 win over No. 13 Liberty High in a Class 4A, Region 5 semifinal on Tuesday in North Liberty.
Liberty High ended its season 19-15 while Marion improved to 20-19 on the season and will face No. 5 Independence (33-6) in the Region 5 title game.
Olivia Slattery led Liberty High four Liberty High players with double digit kills with a team-high 23.
LeeAnn Potter had 16 kills while Sydney Woods added 11 kills and Lauren Roman had 10 kills.
Haley Hested had 60 kills for the Lightning while Addie Schmierer had a team-high 21 digs.
Potter had 18 digs and Slattery had three blocks for Liberty High.
City High Sweeps Muscatine
Class 5A City High swept Muscatine 25-22, 25-18, 25-22 in a Region 8 semifinal on Tuesday in Iowa City.
City High improved to 24-12 with the win and advanced to Monday’s regional final where it will face fourth ranked Cedar Rapids Jefferson (36-6).
Mackenzie Murphy had 11 kills and two ace serves to pace City High while Ellie Evans had 10 kills and 12 digs.
Lindsey Bolton and Makayla Ribble each had 16 assists while Brooke Bormann had 14 digs for City High.
