Regina Rolls Past Jesup to Set Up Showdown With Dike-New Hartford

Regina took care of business on Friday in a road trip to one-win Jesup.
Now comes the big one for the Regals.
Regina (5-3) built a 28-0 halftime lead and rolled to a 42-22 win over Jesup on Friday to set up a winter-take-all meeting with top-ranked Dike-New Hartford (8-0) for the District 6 title in the regular season finale next Friday at Regina.
Ashton Cook threw for a career-high 345 yards and four touchdowns as Regina remained unbeaten in district play with its fourth consecutive win.
“We are playing better as of late,” Regina coach Marv Cook said. “We will need to have a great week of preparation as we get ready for Dike-New Hartford.”
Kieler Brown rushed for 113 yards and caught four passes for 67 yards and a touchdown as Regina posted season-highs in points and total yards.
The Regals rolled up 549 total yards in the win, 151 more than the previous high for Regina this season.
“Kieler Brown played an amazing game rushing and receiving,” Cook said. “He made big runs when we needed them.”
Senior offensive lineman Luke Stein moved to the backfield and powered into the end zone from a yard out to put Regina up 7-0 in the first quarter.
The Regals used a 21-point second quarter to build a commanding 28-0 halftime lead.
Brown took a screen pass from Cook 47 yards to the end zone to make it 14-0 Regals and Cook had scoring strikes of 20 yards to sophomore Alec Wick and 19 yards to senior Bryce Barnett.
Barnett finished with 10 receptions for 155 yards and two touchdowns while Wick caught six passes for 84 yards and a touchdown.
Patrick Clark added two grabs for 27 yards and Levi Quinlan rushed for 57 yards and caught three passes for 12 yards.
Quinlan and Wick each had four solo tackles to lead the Regina defensive effort and Quinlan added an interception.
