Sixth-ranked North Scott Too Much For Liberty High

In its first season of varsity football Liberty High has hung with every team it has lined up against this season.
The Lightning were up to the task early but Class 3A sixth-ranked North Scott was too much pulling away for a 44-15 win over Liberty High in a District 5 matchup in North Liberty.
North Scott broke open a 14-7 game with 30 unanswered point while improving to 5-1 on the season with its fifth consecutive win.
Liberty High dropped to 2-4 on the season and 0-2 in District 5 play with its second consecutive loss.
Senior quarterback Nile McLaughlin threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as North Scott improved to 2-0 in District 5 play.
Jacob Porth added a pair of touchdown runs for North Scott which is unbeaten following a 28-7 season-opening loss to 4A fifth-ranked West High.
North Scott took a 14-0 lead with touchdowns on each of its first two possessions but Liberty High answered back with a 76-yard touchdown pass from Drake Woody to Kaleb Williams.
The rest of the game was all Lancer.
North Scott scored four unanswered touchdowns to close the first half while building a 41-7 halftime lead.
