Fifth-ranked West High Keeps Rolling with Rout of Linn-Mar

It took West High some time to get going on Friday but the Trojans kept on rolling.
Class 4A fifth-ranked West High broke open a 3-0 game after the opening quarter with 31 points over the next two quarters on its way 41-7 win over Linn-Mar on Friday in a District 4 contest at Linn-Mar Stadium.
West High improved to 5-1 on the season and 2-0 in District 4 play with its fourth consecutive win while Linn-Mar dropped to 1-5 and 0-2 with its third consecutive loss.
The Trojans led just 3-0 after one quarter on a 40-yard field goal by Josh Jasek.
West High upped the lead to 17-0 at halftime on second-quarter touchdown runs by Peter Breitbach and Owen McAreavy.
The Trojans put the game away in the third quarter.
Marcus Morgan and Joey Kuehn each tossed scoring strikes as West High pushed its lead to 34-0.
Morgan hit Jalen Gaudet for a 15-yard scoring strike and Kuehn connected with McAreavy for a 7-yard touchdown pass.
West High capped the scoring when Morgan and senior Justin Thomas hooked up for a 61-yard touchdown that put the Trojans up 41-0.
West High travels to Davenport North (5-1, 2-0) for a Thursday meeting between District 4 leaders.
