City High stayed hot with a sweep of Waterloo East on Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division contest in Iowa City.
The Little Hawks improved to 13-8 on the season and 3-2 in Mississippi Division play with a 25-15, 25-6, 25-9 win over Waterloo East (2-18, 0-5 MVC).
City High
Ellie Evans and Kelsey Law each had 10 kills on Tuesday as City High won for the sixth time in seven matches.
Mackenzie Murphy and Mia Loughran each added seven kills and Evans had a team-high 18 digs in the win.
Makayla Ribble had 21 assists and Lindsey Bolton added 14 assists for the Little Hawks.
No. 5 Linn-Mar Downs West High
West High fell to Class 5A fifth-ranked Linn-Mar 25-13, 25-15, 25-18 on Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division tilt in Iowa City.
Linn-Mar improved to 20-6 and 4-1 in Valley Division play while West High dropped to 8-15 and 1-4 in Valley Division matches.
Solon Swept in Top-4 Showdown
Class 2A second-ranked Dyersville Beckman remained unbeaten with a 25-14, 25-17, 25-11 win over Class 3A fourth-ranked Solon in a WAMAC East Division showdown on Tuesday in Dyersville.
Beckman improved to 31-0 on the season and 5-0 in WAMAC East Division action while Solon dropped to 13-6 and 2-1 in WAMAC East play.
Ellie Bildstein led Beckman with 12 kills while Heather Boeckenstedt had nine and Caroline Kluesner had eight.
Regina Falls to West Liberty
Class 3A No. 10 West Liberty downed Regina 25-11, 25-17, 25-13 in a River Valley Conference South Division matchup on Tuesday in West Liberty.
Regina dropped to 7-15 on the season and 1-4 in RVC South play while West Liberty improved to 17-3 and 3-2 in RVC South matches.
Jaedynn Evans led Regina with seven kills and 12 digs while Annie Gahan added three kills and seven digs.
Kennedy Wallace had 12 assists and six digs while Grace Sharpless and Josie Krueger each added six digs.
West Branch Sweeps Mid-Prairie
West Branch won for the seventh time in eight matches with a 25-12, 25-19, 25-15 sweep of Mid-Prairie on Tuesday in a River Valley Conference South Division matchup in Wellman.
The Bears improved to 13-6 on the season and 2-3 in RVC South Division play while Mid-Prairie dropped to 6-8 and 0-5.
