Solon closed non-district play with consecutive impressive wins over Marion and Davenport Assumption.

The Spartans kept right on rolling in their district opener.

Class 3A third-ranked Solon scored 28 points in the opening quarter and rolled to a 49-6 win over Fort Madison on Friday in the 3A, District 6 opener for both teams in Fort Madison.

Adam Bock rushed for 108 yards and three touchdowns as Solon improved to 5-0 with its 21st consecutive regular season win.

Solon wasted little time taking getting its offense going on Friday.

Junior quarterback Cam Miller hit AJ Coons for a 22-yard touchdown pass five minutes into the game to get the Spartans on the scoreboard.

Solon scored here touchdowns in the final 5:30 to take control of the game.

Bock scored on a 4-yard run with 5:29 left in the opening quarter and Miller added a 4-yard run with 3:51 left.

The second touchdown run of the game for Bock cam with 14 seconds left in the opening quarter and put the Spartans on top 28-0.

Hunter Brown blocked a 28-yard Fort Madison field goal attempted with 7:58 left in the second quarter and Miller hit Dillon Hoit for a 14-yard touchdown pass to put Solon up 35-0 at the half and trigger the continuous clock.

Bock scored on a 55-yard run 83 seconds into the third quarter to make it 42-0 Solon.

Trey Stebral capped the Solon scoring when he caught a 73-yard touchdown pass from sophomore Bo Janssen.

The 108 rushing yards for Bock came on just 10 carries while Hunter Kula added 58 yards on nine carries.

Miller finished 8-of-14 passing for 102 yards and a touchdown.

Solon held Fort Madison to 98 yards of total offense and just 16 yards rushing on 18 carries.

Senior quarterback Lennon Barker went 12-of-28 passing for 78 yards for Fort Madison which dropped to 2-3 with its third consecutive loss.
