Another member of West High’s state championship basketball team has found a future home on the hardwood.
Senior Emma Koch announced her commitment to Dartmouth College on Twitter on Monday.
“I am blessed and thrilled to announce my commitment to the admissions process to continue my education and basketball career at Dartmouth College,” Koch wrote. “I am very grateful for the support from my family, coaches, teammates and friends during this process.”
The 5-foot-11 Koch averaged a career-high 9.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game last season while helping West High to a 19-7 record and Class 5A state title.
Koch averaged 8.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game during the Women of Troy’s three state tournament wins.
A three-year starter, Koch averaged 7.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game as a junior.
Koch helped West High reach the state tournament each of the past two seasons and is also a two-time state champion in tennis.
She has won state doubles titles each of the past two seasons and helped West High to the Class 2A state team tennis title last spring.
Koch joins classmates Lauren Zacharias (Wayne State) and Cailyn Morgan (Northern Iowa) as West High seniors to commit to college programs.
A member of the Ivy League, Dartmouth was 15-12 last season and 7-7 in Ivy League play.
“I am extremely thankful that the Dartmouth coaching staff has given me this amazing opportunity,” Koch said. “I also want to thank all the schools and coaches that recruited and stuck by me. Can’t wait to compete in the Ivy League next year.”
