Volleyball Roundup: West High Rallies Past Waterloo West in Five Sets

West High needed five sets and a late rally but the Women of Troy snapped a three-match Mississippi Valley Conference losing skid on Tuesday with a 20-25, 21-25, 25-18, 25-20, 15-12 win at Waterloo West.
Cailyn Morgan hammered 22 kills and Emily Cray and Haley Gallagher each added nine kills as West High improved to 5-12 on the season and 2-3 in MVC play with its first conference win since a season-opening victory over City High.
Rylee Fay had 37 assists and 11 digs to go with eight kills and seven ace serves in the win.
Freshman Katherine Kouba had a team-high 23 digs while Gallagher added 13 digs and Morgan had seven digs.
Waterloo West dropped to 8-7 and 2-3 in MVC play with the loss.

Solon Stays Hot With Sweep of Maquoketa
Class 3A fifth-ranked Solon remained perfect in WAMAC play with a 25-11, 25-7, 25-16 win over Maquoketa on Tuesday in Solon.
The Spartans improved to 13-5 on the season and 3-0 in WAMAC East play while Maquoketa dropped to 2-16 and 0-4 in conference matches.

Top-Ranked Cedar Falls Too Much for City High
Class 5A top-ranked Cedar Falls stayed unbeaten on the season with a 25-13, 25-10, 25-9 win over No. 13 City High on Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division contest in Cedar Falls.
Dara Hulstein had nine kills and six blocks to lead Cedar Falls as the Tigers improved to 22-0 and 5-0 in MVC play.
Akacia Brown had eight kills and Emerson Green had 25 assists and four ace serves for Cedar Falls which has yet to drop a set this season.
Ellie Evans had eight kills while Kelsey Law and Mackenzie Murphy each had five kills for City High.
Makayla Ribble had nine assists for City High which dropped to 7-7 on the season and 2-3 in MVC play.

CPU Sweeps Clear Creek Amana
Class 3A sixth-ranked Center Point-Urbana swept 4A No. 14 Clear Creek Amana 25-14, 25-22, 25-23 in a matchup of WAMAC West ranked foes on Tuesday in Tiffin.
CPU improved to 15-7 and 2-1 in WAMAC West play while Clear Creek Amana dropped to 9-7 and 2-2 in conference contests.
Calia Clubb led Clear Creek Amana with 10 kills while Hailey Pollock added six kills and Madison George and Amelia Pereira each had three kills.
Cheyaenne Bunch had 23 assists and 10 digs while Jordan Neely had 15 digs and Lauren Riggle added nine digs.

Liberty High Swept by Linn-Mar
Class 5A fifth-ranked swept 4A No. 12 Liberty High 25-22, 25-20, 25-16 in a Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division contest on Tuesday in Marion.
Sydney Woods led Liberty High with seven kills while LeeAnn Potter added six kills and seven digs.
Olivia Slattery had five kills while Hailey Hested had 22 assists for the Lightning.
Gabbie Schroeder had four ace serves and seven digs and Addie Schmierer added five digs for Liberty High.
