For the second week in a row Clear Creek Amana has an impressive performance to best a second-ranked team and claim a team title.

A week after cruising to the team title at the Tipton Invitational in front of Class 2A second-ranked Tipton 3A fourth-ranked Clear Creek Amana edged No. 2 Carlisle for the team crown at the Oskaloosa Invite on Tuesday in Oskaloosa.

Clear Creek Amana had four runners place in the top 10 while claiming the team title at the 17-team meet with 42 points, seven better than second-ranked Carlisle.

Sixth-ranked Grinnell was third with 151 points followed by Ballard with 158 and Williamsburg with 177.

Jack Sexton finished second in a time of 17:23 to pace Clear Creek Amana while Nick O’Connor was fifth in 17:52.2.

Brandon Barker was seventh in 17:53.1 and senior Cole Liebe rounded out the top-10 finishers for the Clippers placing 10th in 18:09.4.

Caleb Alcorn added an 18th place finish in 18:38.9.

Carter Huyser of Oskaloosa won the individual title in 17:18.2.

Clear Creek Amana Girls Place 14th at Oskaloosa

Clear Creek Amana placed 14th at the Oskaloosa Invitational on Tuesday in Oskaloosa.

Class 3A third-ranked Ballard won the team title with 64 points while No. 12 Grinnell was second with 73 points and No. 10 Carlisle was third with 79.

Clear Creek Amana placed 14th with 322 points.

Kaylie Barker led the Clippers finishing 22nd in a time of 22:42.2.
