Clear Creek Amana shutout Mount Pleasant over the final three quarters while scoring the final 26 points in a 26-7 win over the Panthers in the season opener for both teams in Mount Pleasant.
Andrew Rohret threw for 99 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 83 more yards and a score in his first start at quarterback as the Clippers scored 26 second-half points to overcome an early 7-0 deficit.
Rohret connected with junior Sam Stevens on an 84-yard touchdown pass and added a 29-yard touchdown run to spark the Clear Creek Amana offense.
Zach Kabbage rushed for 78 yards and two scores and Alex Figueroa added 43 yards as the Clippers rolled up 216 yards on the ground.
Stevens led the Clippers with three catches for 94 yards and a touchdown.
The Clear Creek Amana defense didn’t allow a point after the opening quarter and finished with six sacks among its eight tackles for loss.
TJ Bollers, JJ Denny, Arron Feinberg, Grant Jensen, Sam Noska and Jonah Upah all had a sack for the Clippers.
Denny led the Clippers with 6.5 tackles while Mitch Evans had six tackles and Nick Gerard had five.
Kaden and Quentin Gisleson each had an interception for the Clippers.
