City High freshman Heidi Stalkfleet made quite a splash in her varsity swimming debut.

Stalkfleet won four titles, including a pair of individual crowns, to lead City High to a 120-64 win over Dubuque Hempstead in a Mississippi Valley Conference dual meet at Mercer Park Aquatic Center.

The freshman won the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke in the season-opening dual and helped the Little Hawks to wins in both the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays.

Junior Olivia Masterson was also a four-event winner, adding titles in the 200 IM and 100 freestyle and swimming on the winning 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams.

Junior Carly Weigel won the 500 freestyle in a time of 5:35.65 and Trinity Sadecky added a title in the 50 freestyle in 25.7.

West High Wins 11 Events in Win Over Cedar Rapids Jefferson

West High won all 11 swimming events on its way to a 138-47 win over Cedar Rapids Jefferson in a Mississippi Valley Conference dual meet on Tuesday at the Coralville Recreation Center.

Aurora Roghair, freshman Scarlet Martin and Lily Ernst all won a pair of individual events and West High won all three relays in its season-opening meet.

Roghair won the 200 IM and 100 butterfly while Ernst added titles in the 50 and 100 freestyles.

Martin won titles in both the 200 freestyle and backstroke in her first varsity meet and was a member of the winning 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams.

Olivia Taeger added a title in the 500 freestyle and Lexi Janik won the 100 breaststroke for West High.

Ernst, Janik and Taeger joined Ella Hochstetler on the winning 200 medley relay team.
