Softball Roundup: Solon Pushes Win Streak to 11 With Sweep of Maquoketa

Solon picked up its second sweep of a WAMAC East Division opponent in 24 hours on Tuesday winning a pair of games in Maquoketa to push its winning streak to 11.
Class 3A No. 10 Solon downed Maquoketa 12-8 in the opener and completed the sweep with an 8-0 win in the nightcap.
Skylar Stookey homered twice in the doubleheader as Solon improved to 22-5 and 9-2 in WAMAC East Division play.
Regina Drops Non-conference Contest at Washington
Regina managed just four hits in a 3-0 loss to Washington in a non-conference contest in Washington on Tuesday.
Class 2A eighth-ranked Regina dropped to 17-14 on the season with its third consecutive loss while Washington improved to 12-19.
Katie Bracken too the loss for Regina allowing three runs, one earned, on five hits while striking out three.
Bracken had a double while Jess Hunter, Paisley Gardner and Lauren Marth each had a hit for the Regals.

City High Drops Two at Fifth-ranked CR Jefferson
Class 5A fifth-ranked Cedar Rapids Jefferson swept City High in a Mississippi Valley Conference doubleheader on Tuesday in Cedar Rapids.
The J-Hawks won the opener 2-1 in eight innings and took the nightcap 9-2 to improve to 27-5 on the season and 16-4 in MVC play.
City High dropped to 19-15 on the year and 14-8 in MVC contests.
Carey Koenig homered in the opener for City High.
