A rainy day and a wet field couldn’t stop Regina from getting a conference win on Thursday.
Class 2A eighth-ranked Regina improved to 11-1 in River Valley Conference play with an 8-3 win over Northeast in a RVC cross-divisional matchup moved from Regina to Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids due to weather conditions.
Regina improved to 15-10 on the season with its seventh consecutive RVC win while Northeast dropped to 10-6 and 8-5 in conference play.
Katie Bracken earned the win for Regina allowing three runs on five hits while striking out six and walking one.
Bracken also went 3-for-4 with a double to lead an 11-hit Regina attack.
Jess Hunter went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and four RBI for Regina and Taylor O’Conner had two hits and scored a run.
Carrigan O’Conner, Paisley Gardner, Emma Nibaur and Lauren Marth all had a hit and an RBI for the Regals.
