West High exploded for 13 runs in the fifth inning on its way to a 24-2 win over Williamsburg in a non-conference contest on Saturday in Williamsburg.

Class 4A second-ranked West High had eight hits and took advantage of 16 walks from Williamsburg pitchers while improving to 4-1 on the season.

Ryan Cooper went 2-for-2 with two RBI and three runs scored while Lucas Karwal had a hit and scored twice.

Logan Trumbull had a hit and drove in three runs while Alex Granner, Chase Calderwood and Ian Gluesing all droving in a pair of runs.

Jason Strunk scored three runs while Trevor Byers and Mason Sorge each scored twice.

Noah Aanestad picked up the win allowing two hits in three shutout innings.

Clear Creek Amana Goes 1-1 at BGM Tourney

Clear Creek Amana went 1-1 at the BGM tournament on Saturday defeating BGM 8-0 and falling to Grinnell 15-1.

The Clippers moved to 3-3 on the season with the 1-1 performance.

Grant Jensen picked up the win in the opener against BGM, allowing three hits and striking out 11 in six innings.

Cody Ogden went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs while Jensen had two hits and drove in a run.

Camden Armstrong and TJ Bollers each had a hit and drove in a run in the win.

Grinnell scored 12 runs in the sixth inning to break open a two-run game on its way to a 15-1 win.

Ogden went 2-for-2 with an RBI while Armstrong was 2-for-2 and scored a run to lead CCA.

Armstrong took the loss allowing 11 runs on 11 hits in 5 1/3 innings.
