Last week the West Branch boys golf team secured a trip to the state meet.

West Branch had another golfer earn a trip to the state meet on Monday.

Senior Aleah Rocha punched her ticket to the Class 2A girls state golf meet on Monday with a seventh-place finish at the Region 5 tournament at Dyersville Golf and Country Club.

Rocha fired a 47 on the back nine to finish with a 97 to secure a spot at the 2A state meet on May 29 and 30 at Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora.

Dyersville Beckman senior Jackie Olberding won the individual with a 91, two strokes in front of Monticello senior Lauren Ries.

Liberty High Third at Class 3A Regional

In its first season Liberty High came one up spot short of a trip to the state meet.

Liberty High finished third at the Class 3A, Region 3 meet at Oakland Acres Golf Course in Grinnell on Monday with a 386.

Grinnell won the team title with a 327 while Gilbert finished second with a 333 to secure the final state qualifying spot.

Clear Creek Amana placed 11th with a 450.

Emily Greathouse shot a 98 to lead Clear Creek Amana while Thea Clennon shot a 110.

Solon 8th at 3A, Region 5 Meet

Solon placed eighth at the Class 3A, Region 5 meet at Emeis Park Golf Course in Davenport on Monday.

Washington won the team title with a 341 and had the top three individual finishers led by medalist Sarah Nacos with a 77.

Maquoketa was second with a 396 to earn the final state qualifying spot.
