Golf Roundup: West High Finishes 9th, City High 11th at MVC Super Meet

West High finished ninth at the Mississippi Valley Conference Super Meet on Monday at Gardner Golf Course in Cedar Rapids in the first of three conference meets used to determine MVC champions.
Rylee Fay shot a 97 to pace West High and Ellie Kouba shot a 101 as the Women of Troy finished with a 406.
Kaylee Paulsen carded a 102 to lead City High as the Little Hawks finished 11th with a 428.
Linn-Mar won the team title with a 340, 16 strokes in front of runner-up Dubuque Wahlert.
Dubuque Senior was third with a 364 followed by Cedar Falls with a 365 and Cedar Rapids Xavier with a 372.
Abby Marting of Dubuque Senior shot a 78 to earn medalist honors while Linn-Mar’s Tori Niemeyer and Mary Edwards of Dubuque Wahlert each shot an 81.

Helle Leads Solon at WAMAC East Divisional
Solon junior Reegan Helle shot a 50 to place seventh at the WAMAC East Divisional meet on Monday at Springbrook Country Club in DeWitt.
Helle helped the Spartans to a fifth-place team finish with a 223 while Anamosa won the team title by two strokes over host Central DeWitt with a 201.
Elly Schadler shot a 56 and Heather Vance a 58 for Solon.

CCA Finishes Eighth at WAMAC West Divisional
Clear Creek Amana placed eighth at the WAMAC West Divisional meet on Monday.
Emily Greathouse shot a 55 to lead the Clippers while Elle McCredie carded a personal best score of 56.
West Branch Wins Tight Triangular at West Liberty
Lexi Clemens fired a 49 to earn runner-up medalist honors as West Branch won a River Valley Conference triangular at the West Liberty Country Club on Monday.
West Branch shot a 205 to finish one stroke in front of runner-up Mid-Prairie and two shots better than West Liberty.
Aleah Rocha shot a 50 and Drew Perkins and Savannah Sexton each shot a 53 for West Branch.
Paige Slabaugh of Mid-Prairie shot a 46 to earn medalist honors.

WAMAC East Divisional Meet
Solon had three players finish in a tie for ninth place with a 44 on its way to a fourth-place team finish at the WAMAC East Divisional meet on Monday at Thunder Hills Country Club in Dubuque.
Blake Newell, Lucas TePoel and Ethan Yahr all carded a 44 as Solon placed fourth in a tight team race with a 178.
The top four teams were separated by just four strokes as Central DeWitt shot a 173 to win the team title followed by West Delaware with a 174 and Maquoketa with a 175.
Tyler Langel of West Delaware earned medalist honors with a 39.

West Branch Wins Wahkonsa Mini Tournament
Ted Bridges tied for medalist honors to help West Branch edged Wilton for the team title at a five-team tournament at Wahkonsa Country Club in Wilton on Monday.
Bridges fired a 41 to share medalist honors with Wilton’s Jared Townsend but the Bears finished with a 171, two strokes in front of runner-up Wilton.
Regina was third with a 183 followed by Durant and Tipton.
Trevor Thein shot a 42 for West Branch to share runner-up medalist honors with Nolan Leaton of Wilton.
Mark Schomer and Andrew Miller each shot a 44 to pace Regina.
