Class 3A No. 13 City High had a five-game winning streak snapped with a 2-1 loss to 2A sixth-ranked Cedar Rapids Xavier on Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference match in Cedar Rapids.

Xavier got goals from Amanda Ross and Karly Weiss while snapping a three-game losing skid with the win.

The Saints improved to 2-4 on the season and 2-2 in MVC play while City High dropped to 5-2 and 4-1 in conference games.  

Sydney DePrenger scored the City High goal off a Sam Schroder assist.

West High Gets First Win

West High picked up its first win of the season with a 3-1 win over Cedar Rapids Jefferson on Tuesday in Cedar Rapids.

West High improved to 1-6 on the season and 1-4 in Mississippi Valley Conference play while Cedar Rapids Jefferson dropped to 1-6 and 1-5 in MVC play.

Marion Stops CCA

Class 2A ninth-ranked Marion remained unbeaten on the season with a 1-0 win over Clear Creek Amana on Tuesday in Tiffin.

Naomi Smith converted the only goal of the match off a Kaitlyn Fuller assist as Marion improved to 6-0 on the season.

Clear Creek Amana dropped to 2-7 on the season with its fifth consecutive loss.
