Class 3A No. 13 City High ran its winning streak to three with a 1-0 shutout of Dubuque Senior on Friday in Dubuque.

City High improved to 3-1 on the season and 2-0 in Mississippi Valley Conference play while Dubuque Senior dropped to 2-2 and 1-1 in conference contests.

The first career goal by freshman Callie Menzel accounted for all the scoring as City High posted its second shutout of the week.

Clippers Pick Up First Win

Clear Creek Amana stopped a two-match losing skid to open the season on Friday with a 1-0 win over South Tama in a WAMAC West Division match in Tiffin.

Senior Carolina Herrera scored the lone goal as Clear Creek Amana improved to 1-2 on the season and 1-0 in WAMAC West play.

South Tama dropped to 1-2 with the loss.

Junior Lillian Hennes recorded the shutout in goal to lead the Clippers.
