Tyler Linderbaum won the shot put to lead Solon at the WAMAC boys indoor track and field meet on Saturday at Grinnell College.

Linderbaum won the shot put with a toss of 53-6, more than five feet further than the mark for runner-up Cole Overton of Vinton-Shellsburg.

Clear Creek Amana claimed a pair of relay golds, winning both the distance medley and 4×800 relays.

The Clear Creek Amana foursome of Matt Brimeyer, Alex Figueroa, Harrison Cory and Nick O’Connor won the distance medley by better than five seconds with a winning time of 3:55.54.

Clear Creek Amana edged Vinton-Shellsburg to win the 4×800 title as a Kaden McAreavy, Quentin Gisleson, Jack Sexton and Cole Liebe finished first in a time of 8:43.29.

The Solon girls team won a pair of relays on Saturday in dominating fashion cruising to titles in both the 4×400 and 4×800.

Solon won the 4×400 by more than 10 seconds over runner-up Independence as Taylor Ryan, Khaylor Fleck, Abby Smith and Erin Kerkhoff finished first in 4:11.54.

The Spartans 4×800 team of Kerkhoff, Sophie Nicol, Cayley Annis and Gabbi Bullard won in a time of 10:25.52 to win by more than 12 seconds.

No teams scores were kept at the meet.
