Solon went nine days without a game before Thursday’s regular season finale at Vinton-Shellsburg.
The time off did little to slow the Spartans’ momentum.
Solon held Vinton-Shellsburg to eight points in the first half on its way to a 48-33 win over the Vikings on Thursday in Vinton.
The win was the third straight for Solon which closed the regular season 14-7 while Vinton-Shellsburg dropped to 5-16.
Ben Krutzfeldt had a team-high 18 points while Luke Ira added 11 and Cam Miller had seven for the Spartans.
Nolan Haisman had a game-high 19 points to lead Vinton-Shellsburg.

Clear Creek Amana Downs Anamosa in Regular Season Finale
Clear Creek Amana downed Anamosa 62-54 in its regular season finale on Thursday in Tiffin.
Nolan Schwarting had 18 points and seven rebounds as Clear Creek Amana closed the regular season 9-12 with its fifth win in the last seven games.
Darius Moore had 16 points while Nick O’Connor and TJ Bollers each had six rebounds for the Clippers.
Anamosa dropped to 3-18 with its 10th straight loss.

Kennedy Rallies Past City High
For the second time in a week City High let a halftime lead slip away in a 63-57 loss to Cedar Rapids Kennedy in a Mississippi Valley Conference contest in Cedar Rapids.
City High led 35-32 at halftime but couldn’t hang on while dropping to 5-16 on the season and 3-13 in MVC play.
Cedar Rapids Kennedy closed the regular season 9-12.
Carter Westlake led City High with a game-high 25 points and DeAngelo McNeil had 11 for the Little Hawks.
Luke Young had nine points and Jeremy Kambomba had seven points.
