Rachael Saunders and Logan Cook have been instrumental in the success of the West High girls basketball program for the past several seasons.
With all Saunders and Cook have meant to the West High it seemed only fitting the duo would come up big on senior night.
Saunders and Cook combined for 34 points to lead Class 5A ninth-ranked West High to a 65-33 win over Waterloo West in the regular season finale for both teams on Friday in Iowa City.
Cook scored a game-high 23 points and Saunders added 11 as West High finished the regular season 14-7 and put the finishing touches on a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division title, finishing 11-2 in MVC play.
The win was the third straight for West High to close the regular season after the Women of Troy dropped four consecutive games to ranked teams last month.
Emma Koch added 13 points and Lauren Zacharias had seven for West High.
NaTracia Ceaser had 18 points for Waterloo West as the Wahawks dropped to 11-11 on the season and 4-9 in MVC play with the loss.
