In less than two full seasons of high school swimming Forrest Frazier has already turned in number of impressive performances.

The most recent performance for the City High sophomore was his best yet.

Frazier won two individual titles and helped City High to a pair of runner-up relay finishes on his way to being named district athlete of the year on Saturday at the District swimming meet at Southeast Polk.

Led by Frazier City High third in the team standings and qualified eight events for the state swimming meet next Saturday at the University of Iowa Aquatic Center.

West High finished runner-up to West Des Moines Valley in the team standings and qualified seven events for the state meet.

City High won four individual events on Saturday as Louis Stephan and freshman Isaac Weigel each added individual titles for the Little Hawks.

Frazier won the 100 butterfly and the 100 breaststroke, setting City High school records in each event, and helped the Little Hawks to runner-up finishes in both the 400 freestyle relay and the 200 medley relay.

The sophomore won the 100 butterfly in a time of 50.59, more than two seconds in front of West High sophomore Izaak Hajek.

City High went 1-2 in the 100 breaststroke as Frazier won the title in 56.06 and Stephan was second in 58.94.

Stephan got his own title in the 200 IM in a time of 1:57.41 while Weigel won the 500 freestyle in 4:48.6.

City High was runner-up to West Des Moines Valley in both the 400 freestyle and 200 medley relays.

The 200 medley team of Frazier, Stephan, Eric Thomas and Mickale Sadecky was second in 1:36.93 while the same foursome was runner-up in 3:17.05 in the 400 freestyle relay.

West High finished third and qualified for state in both of those relays.

Hajek, Ben Berhow, Ethan McAreavy and Valeri Trussov finished in 1:39.09 in the 200 medley while Michael Kimball, Hajek, Brennon Keen and Lane Griffis were third in 3:19.43 in the 400 freestyle relay.

West High has two individual state qualifiers in three different events.

Berhow and Griffis placed third and fourth on Saturday in the 100 breaststroke to qualify for state and Griffis and Tate Happel were second and fifth respective in the 500 freestyle while both earning state qualifying times.

Hajek was runner-up and Trussov was sixth in the 100 butterfly and Hajek added another runner-up finish in the 200 IM.
