Basketball Roundup: West High Falls to Montini Catholic

Another highly ranked opponent, another close loss for the West High girls basketball team.
West High dropped its fourth straight game to a ranked opponent falling to Montini Catholic (Illinois) 44-43 at Renaissance Coliseum at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois on Saturday.
Class 5A ninth-ranked West High dropped to 11-7 on the season with its third loss to an out-of-state opponent.
Cailyn Morgan led West High with a game-high 17 points while Logan Cook had 13 points and Rachael Saunders added 10.
Sam Mitchell led three Montini Catholic (26-2) players in double figures with 14 points.

Regina Locks Up RVC South Title
Regina secured at least a share of the River Valley Conference South Division title with a 62-49 win over Wilton on Saturday in Iowa City.
Class 2A seventh-ranked Regina jumped to a 23-4 lead after one quarter and led 37-21 at the half while improving to 14-4 on the season and 13-2 in RVC play.
Wilton dropped to 12-7 and 9-7 in conference play.

Regina Rolls Past Wilton
Regina followed up an upset of eighth-ranked Northeast on Friday with an 82-40 win over Wilton on Saturday in Iowa City.
The win was the fifth straight for Regina and improved the Regals to 13-3 on the season and 13-1 in RVC South Division play.
Masen Miller led Regina with 15 points while Jocoa Kerschen had 14 and Michael Conlon and Blake Berns each had 23.
Even Brauns added nine points and three blocked shots.
