A little time off didn’t slow West Branch on Thursday.
Two games in two days couldn’t stop the Bears on Friday.
West Branch followed up a non-conference win at Belle Plaine on Thursday with a 62-41 win over North Cedar on Friday in West Branch to push its winning streak to five.
Tatum Koenig scored 25 points for the second consecutive game as West Branch improved to 13-5 on the season and 11-5 in River Valley Conference play.
Koenig added six rebound, five assists and two steals as the Bears won for the 10th time in 11 games.
Freshman Taya Young added 12 points, two rebounds and two steals and Abbey Fryauf had six points and six rebounds in the win.
Taylor Thein scored six points and had two steals for the Bears.
North Cedar dropped to 8-10 on the season and 6-10 in RVC play.
Regina Rolls at Northeast
Regina scored the first 16 points of the game and cruised to a 60-18 win over Northeast in a River Valley Conference cross-divisional contest in Goose Lake.
Mary Crompton scored 14 of her game-high 17 points in the first half as Regina built a 41-5 halftime lead.
Alex Wiese added 16 points as Class 2A seventh-ranked Regina improved to 13-4 on the season and 12-2 in RVC play.
Claire Gaarde, Greyson Dumont and Kennedy Wallace all had six points for Regina.
Jacey House had 9 for Northeast which dropped to 3-16 on the season and 1-13 in RVC play with its 11th straight loss.

There was no post-West High struggles for top-ranked City High on Friday.
Ashley Joens scored 29 of her game-high 31 points in the first half as 5A No. 1 City High roared to a 57-12 halftime lead on its way to a 81-33 win over Dubuque Hempstead.
Rose Nkumu and Aubrey Joens each had 13 points as City High improved to 17-0 on the season.
Sam Greving had eight points and Paige Rocca six as City High was dominant in its first action after a win over cross-town rival West High on Tuesday.
Morgan Krug had 12 points to lead Dubuque Hempstead which dropped to 12-5 on the season.

South Tama outscored Clear Creek Amana 19-9 in the fourth quarter to break open a tie game on its way to a 59-49 win in a WAMAC West Division contest in Tiffin.
Clear Creek Amana dropped to 9-7 on the season and 7-4 in WAMAC West play with the loss while South Tama improved to 10-7 and 7-4 with its fifth consecutive win.
