What do you do for an encore after becoming the all-time leading scorer at your school?
If you’re West Branch senior Tatum Koenig you put up a near triple-double in a win over a conference rival.
Koenig scored 30 points, grabbed eight rebounds and had eight assists to lead West Branch to a 64-57 win over Tipton (0-3) on Tuesday in West Branch on the same night the senior guard was honored for becoming the top scorer in program history.
It was the second straight 30-point performance by Koenig, who broke Kate Tuttle’s school record for career points with 34 in a loss to Monticello last Friday.
In her first game as the program’s top scorer Koenig was impressive Tuesday hitting 11-of-18 field goal attempts including 4-of-7 from 3-point range as West Branch improved to 2-2 and 2-2 in River Valley Conference South Division play.
Sophomore Taylor Thein went 3-of-4 from 3-point range and had 13 points while freshman Taya Young had 11 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Freshman Sasha Koenig had six assists as West Branch had 19 assists on 24 made field goals.
The Bears held Tipton to two points in the opening quarter and built a 33-20 halftime lead.

City High Sets up Showdown of Unbeatens with Win Over Prairie
The top-three matchup between third-ranked City High and top-ranked Cedar Falls on Friday will be a battle of unbeatens.
City High made sure of that on Tuesday.
Class 5A No. 3 City High jumped to a 24-8 first-quarter lead and rolled past No. 13 Cedar Rapids Prairie 78-48 in a Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division matchup in Cedar Rapids.
Ashley Joens scored all of her team-high 21 points in the first half as City High built a 51-19 lead.
Joens led four Little Hawks in double figures as City High scored at least 78 points for the third straight game while improving to 3-0 on the season.
Rose Nkumu had 16 points, Aubrey Joens added 14 and Samantha Greving had 10.
Paige Rocca chipped in with eight points in the win.
Mallory McDermott had 23 points to lead Cedar Rapids Prairie which dropped to 3-2 with its second straight loss.

West High Stays Unbeaten With Road Win
Class 5A second-ranked West High continued its impressive start to the season with a 69-45 win over Cedar Rapids Kennedy on Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference cross-divisional matchup in Cedar Rapids.
West High improved to 4-0 with the win while Cedar Rapids Kennedy dropped to 1-3 with its third consecutive loss.
Lauren Zacharias and Emma Koch each had 14 points as four players reached double figures in a balanced West High offensive performance.
Logan Cook had 13 points while Cailyn Morgan had 10 and freshman Audrey Koch added nine.
Hailey Dolphin had 12 points to lead Cedar Rapids Kennedy.

Regina Holds Off Mid-Prairie
Class 2A sixth-ranked Regina returned to the win column with a 50-46 win over Mid-Prairie on Tuesday in a River Valley Conference South Division contest in Iowa City.
Regina improved to 2-2 and 2-1 in RVC play while Mid-Prairie dropped to 2-1.
