West High defeated Cedar Falls 89-80 in a Mississippi Valley Conference dual at Holmes Junior High in Cedar Falls on Tuesday.

Lane Griffis won the 200 freestyle in 1:50.55 and the 500 freestyle in 5:00.15 and was a part of the Trojans’ winning 200 medley relay team.

Izaak Hajek won the 100 butterfly in 53.1 while Ben Berhow won breaststroke in 1:03.61.

West High won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:36.78 and claimed the 200 medley relay in 1:42.

Sadecky Leads City High in Loss at Cedar Rapids Washington

City High fell to Cedar Rapids Washington 87-83 in a season-opening Mississippi Valley Conference dual meet in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday.

Mickale Sadecky paced City High winning the 50 freestyle in 22.76 and the 100 freestyle in 51.04 and also was a part of the Little Hawks’ winning 200 medley relay team.

Forrest Frazier added a title in the 100 backstroke in a time of 53.47 while Eric Thomas won the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.38.
