Colby Greene and Shauntina Williams were multiple-year starters that took their games to a different level this season.
Alex Wiese and Jaedynn Evans were new teammates playing their first year in a new spot.
All four players followed different paths this season but ended up in the same spot.
Greene, Williams, Wiese and Evans were all named to the s a member of Iowa Girls Coaches Association all-state teams released on Wednesday.
Greene was a second-team selection in Class 5A after leading West High to a 22-16 record and a spot in the regional final.
The 6-foot-3 Greene led West High with 300 kills to rank 13th in Class 5A and also had a team-high 76 blocks.
A three-year starter, Greene earned all-state honors for the first time following a senior season in which she hit a career-best .290 as the Women of Troy’s top hitting option.
The Southeast Missouri State recruit also ranked fourth on the team with 130 digs.
Williams was an honorable mention pick in Class 4A after pounding a team-high 353 kills for Clear Creek Amana.
Williams ranked 11th in Class 4A in kills and hit a team-best .326 while leading the Clippers with 58 blocks from her position in the middle.
The 5-foot-10 Williams had 23 aces and 103 digs while earning her first all-state honors.
In their first seasons on the Regina varsity Wiese and Evans combined to lead the Regals to a 28-9 on their first state tournament appearance since 2013.
A 6-foot-1 junior, Wiese was a third-team all-state pick in Class 2A after recording a team-high 365 kills and adding 395 digs and 36 blocks.
Evans was an honorable mention selection in Class 2A after a junior season in which she had 275 kills and 369 digs.
A Central Michigan commit, the 5-foot-9 Evans also had 31 ace serves.
