Solon’s Linderbaum A First-team All State Selection

Solon had a historically stingy defense that ranked among the best in the state this season.
On Tuesday the biggest member of the Solon defense was honored for being one of the biggest reasons the Spartans were among the toughest teams to move the ball against this fall.
Senior defensive tackle Tyler Linderbaum was named a first-team all-state selection for the second straight season on Tuesday when the Iowa Newspaper Association released its all-state teams.
Linderbaum headlined a list of three Solon players that earned all-state honors, joining senior Kendrick Harris and junior Adam Bock.
Clear Creek Amana senior Darius Moore also earned all-state honors.
The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Linderbaum ranked fourth on the team in tackles, making 34.5 tackle stops from his defensive tackle spot.
Linderbaum led a Solon defense that recorded a school-record six shutouts and forced 33 turnovers.
Behind the play of Linderbaum Solon allowed just six points per game on its way to an 11-1 record and the first semifinal appearance since 2013.
An Iowa recruit and US Army All-American Game participant, Linderbaum had three tackles for loss and a sack and added a team-high four fumble recoveries.
Harris joined Linderbaum on the 3A first team after being named a first-team utility selection.
The 6-foot, 205-pound Harris rushed for 920 yards and 10 touchdowns and made 23 tackles as an outside linebacker with three tackles for loss and a sack.
Bock was a third-team all-state pick at linebacker in his first season as a full-time starter.
The 6-foot, 200-pound Bock led Solon with 71.5 tackles including a team-best 45 solo stops.
Bock also had two interceptions and three fumble recoveries returning one of each for a score.
Moore was a third-team all-state pick at receiver after catching 41 passes for 697 yards and four touchdowns.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound senior also threw a touchdown pass and had a pair of interceptions.
