A trio of area athletes were named to the Iowa Association of Track Coaches academic all-state team on Thursday.

West High’s Ethan Trepka and Colleen Bloeser and City High’s Quenton Max were all named to the academic all-state list that honors seniors with at least a 3.8 GP and a cumulative score of 28 or higher on the ACT.

All three runners qualified for the state cross country meet last Saturday.

Bloeser finished 51st to help West High to a fifth-place finish in Class 4A while Trepka placed 86th for the West High boys squad that finished 10 in Class 4A.

Max finished 83rd as an individual qualifier for City High.
