FORT DODGE – West High finished 10th at the Class 4A state cross country meet on Saturday as the Mississippi Valley Conference put six teams in the top 10.

Pleasant Valley had three runners in the top 11 and won the team title with 61 points, 45 in front of runner-up Dubuque Hempstead.

Cedar Rapids Prairie was fifth and MVC teams finished seventh through 11th as Linn-Mar was seventh followed by Dubuque Senior, Cedar Rapids Kennedy, West High and Cedar Rapids Washington.

West High finished with 243 points to edge Cedar Rapids Washington by one for a spot in the top 10.

Junior Kolby Greiner finished 27th in a time of 16:20.8 to lead West  High while sophomore Ken Wilbur was 36th in 16:32.3 and senior Ethan Goers was 54th in 16:49.5.

Ankeny junior Tim Sindt won the individual title in 15:23.7.
