Bailey Nock claimed her second straight MVC Divisional title as West High stretched its string of divisional titles to five straight on Thursday winning the Mississippi Valley Mississippi Division Meet at Seminole Valley Cross Country Course in Cedar Rapids.

Nock won the individual title in a time of 17:59 as Class 4A third-ranked West High held off No. 9 Linn-Mar for the team title.

Led by Nock West High had five runners in the top 10 finishing with 29 points, 12 in front of the runner-up Lions.

Senior Colleen Bloeser finished fifth in 19:34 while freshman Kiara Malloy-Salgado (19:39) was sixth and fellow freshman Erica Buetner (19:57) was eighth to pace West High.

Deniz Ince rounded out the Women of Troy top five placing ninth in 20:08.

Greiner Leads West High Boys To Mississippi Division Title

Junior Kolby Greiner won his first MVC Divisional title to lead West High to the MVC Mississippi Division crown on Thursday at Seminole Valley Cross Country Course in Cedar Rapids.

Greiner won the individual title in 16:04, 19 seconds in front of runner-up Colin Johnston of Linn-Mar.

Class 4A No. 13 West High had five runners in the top 10 and finished with 31 points to edge No. 8 Linn-Mar for the team title by two points.

Ethan Goers finished fourth in 16:35 while Ken Wilbur was seventh in 16:41, Kyle Sulwer was ninth in 16:50 and Yousef Salama was 10th in 16:52 for West High.

City High Boys Sixth in Loaded Valley Divisional

Another week, another loaded Mississippi Valley Conference meet for the City High boys.

One week after placing ninth at the always strong MVC Super Meet, City High placed sixth at the MVC Valley Divisional Meet on Thursday at Noelridge Park in Cedar Rapids.

After winning the Super Meet last week by tiebreaker over Dubuque Hempstead, Class 4A fourth-ranked Cedar Rapids Prairie won the team title with 41 points, 17 in front of 4A No. 5 Hempstead.

Ninth-ranked Cedar Rapids Kennedy was third with 111 points followed by Cedar Falls and No. 14 Cedar Rapids Washington with 117 and City High with 127.

Quenton Max finished 19th in 16:31.95 to lead City High while Caden Turnbough was 22nd in a time of 16:43.42.

City High Girls Finish Fifth

The City High girls finished fifth at the MVC Valley Divisional Meet at Noelridge Park in Cedar Rapids.

Class 4A No. 6 Dubuque Senior won the team title with 48 points while No. 2 Dubuque Hempstead was second with 57 points and No. 7 Cedar Falls was third with 64.

Cedar Rapids Prairie finished fourth with 114 points and No. 11 City High was fifth with 124 points.

Kinsee Brands finished 15th in a time of 19:52.94 to pace City High while Esti Brady was 25th in 20:06.29.

Cedar Rapids Prairie freshman Laurdyn Meyer won the individual title in 18:44.63.
