The Little Hawks handled their first five-setter just fine.
City High rallied for a 25-22, 19-25, 21-25, 25-23, 15-9 win over Cedar Rapids Washington in a Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Divisional match in Iowa City.
Kelsey Law had 18 kills and Ellie Evans added 15 as City High improved to 9-11 on the season and 2-2 in MVC Valley Division play.
Mackenzie Murphy had 14 kills while Mia Loughran had four aces for City High in the win.
Lindsey Bolton had 52 assists and a team-high 16 digs while Law and Brooke Bormann each had 15 digs in the win.
Cedar Rapids Washington dropped to 7-13 and 1-3 in Valley Division play with the loss.
Regina Sweeps West Branch
Alex Wiese had 13 kills and Jaedynn Evans added 11 to lead Class 2A No. 10 Regina to a 25-17, 25-20, 25-13 win over West Branch in a River Valley Conference South Division match in West Branch.
Alexa Lehman had six kills and Ellie VanLandschoot added four as Regina improved to 21-7 on the season and 4-1 in RVC South play.
Abbey Fryauf had 13 kills and 10 digs to lead West Branch which dropped to 5-11 on the season and 1-3 in RVC South contests.
Wiese had a team-high 14 digs while Katrina Chambliss and Clare Dunne each had 13 digs for the Regals.
Emily Bonnett had 33 assists and 11 digs while Lehman and Chambliss each had two ace serves for Regina.
Kaiya Luneckas had seven kills and McKenna Walsh added four kills for West Branch while Riley Vaughan had 18 assists and Courtney Jarrett had a team-high 15 digs.
Clear Creek Amana Drops WAMAC Match at Marion
Clear Creek Amana came up short of an upset on Tuesday falling to Class 4A No. 12 Marion 25-21, 25-17, 24-26, 25-19 in a WAMAC West Division matchup in Marion.
Shauntina Williams had 17 kills and freshman Hailey Pollock added seven as Clear Creek Amana dropped to 11-12 on the season and 2-3 in WAMAC West play.
Lauren Riggle had five kills and 11 digs and Karsyn Stratton had a pair of ace blocks for the Clippers.
Zoe Boehme had 25 assists and Cheyaenne Bunch added 15 assists while Jordan Neely had a team-high 28 digs.
Liberty Upsets Fort Madison
Liberty High got one of the biggest wins in the short history of the program on Tuesday outlasting Class 4A No. 14 Fort Madison 25-21, 25-27, 25-22, 18-25, 15-9.
The Lightning improved to 9-15 on the season with the win while Fort Madison had a 10-match winning streak end with the loss while falling to 16-4 on the season.
LeeAnn Potter led Liberty High with 20 kills while Maya Kerschen added 15 kills and Olivia Slattery had 10.
Potter had a team-high 21 digs and three ace serves for Liberty High while Slattery had four ace blocks and Piper Koski had 45 assists.
Solon Swept by No. 11 Dyersville Beckman
Class 3A No. 11 Dyersville Beckman swept Solon 25-12, 25-17, 25-16 on Tuesday in a WAMC East Division matchup in Solon.
Grace Keith led Solon with eight kills and Abby Smith had six as the Spartans dropped to 7-10 on the season and 2-3 in WAMAC East Division play.
Rachael Nelson led Solon with 22 assists and Taylor Moore had a team-high 15 digs.
Lauren Schrock had four kills for the Spartans.
Isabelle Bennett had a match-high nine kills to lead Dyersville Beckman (18-9, 4-1 WAMAC).
