Clippers Keep Rolling With Win at Center-Point-Urbana

Sometimes a team just needs one thing to go right.
Clear Creek Amana had a lot of things go right last week in a 51-0 win over Maquoketa that snapped a three-game losing skid.
The Clippers kept things going in the right direction on Friday.
Clear Creek Amana (2-3) scored first and never trailed in a 35-14 win over Center-Point Urbana (3-2) in a Class 3A District 4 contest in Center Point.
Ethan Postler passed for 173 yards and three touchdowns and Matt Brimeyer rushed for 116 yards and a score as Clear Creek Amana won for the second straight week and improved 2-3 on the season and 2-1 in district play.
Postler connected with Darius Moore for a 20-yard touchdown strike that gave Clear Creek Amana an early 7-0 lead.
Center Point-Urbana pulled even at 7-7 but Postler found Cade Stratton with an 18-yard touchdown pass to give the Clippers a 14-7 halftime lead.
Clear Creek Amana opened the second half with back-to-back touchdowns runs by Cade Gallagher and Brimeyer to build a 28-7 lead that would never be threatened.
The Clippers defense took care of the rest.
Clear Creek Amana held a CPU team that entered the game averaging 30.5 points and 345 total yards per game to a touchdown in each half and 217 yards of total offense.
Brimeyer led the Clipper defensive charge with a team-high 10 tackles and had 3.5 for loss including a sack.
Senior defensive end Tanner Cochrane had a sack among his three tackles for loss and Dylan Sheely and Quentin Gisleson each had an interception.
Postler finished 14-of-21 passing for 173 yards and tossed three touchdowns for the second game in a row.
The senior signal caller hooked up with Cade Stratton for scoring strikes of 18 and 5 yards in addition to his 20-yard strike to Moore.
Moore notched his fourth consecutive 100-yard receiving game, catching eight passes for 113 yards.
Trevor Stockman had 50 yards rushing and Gallagher added 23 yards and a score on the ground.
Center Point-Urbana dropped to 3-2 and 1-2 in conference play with its second consecutive loss.
Clear Creek Amana goes back on the road next week travelling to Manchester to face West Delaware (4-1).
