Clear Creek Amana had two runners finish in the top 10 on its way to winning the team title at the Tipton Invitational on Tuesday at City Park in Tipton.

Nick O’Connor finished seventh in 17:10 and teammate Brandon Barker was eighth in 17:13 to help Class 3A No. 14 Clear Creek Amana finish 14 points in front of runner-up Center Point-Urbana for the team title.

Host Tipton was third with 102 points, one point in front of Anamosa, while Davenport Assumption was fifth with 156.

Solon finished 13th with 300 and Regina was 15th with 366.

The top four Clippers all finished 16th or better as Jack Sexton was 14th in 17:26 and Cole Liebe placed 16th in a time of 17:27.

Center Point-Urbana senior Myles Bach won the individual title in 15:35.

In the girls race, Solon freshman Kiersten Conway placed fifth to help the Spartans to a third-place team finish.

Conway was sixth overall (fifth among scoring teams) in a time of 20:39 and paced three Spartans that finished in the top 17.

Ella Duster was 16th in 21:45 and teammate Erin Kerkhoff was 17th in 21:46.

Davenport Assumption won the team title with 67 points followed by Anamosa with 91 and Solon with 113.

Regina was sixth with 139 and Clear Creek Amana was 10th with 276.

Clear Creek Amana junior Kaylie Barker was ninth in a time of 20:51 while Regina was led by Kennedy Scott who finished 19th in 21:57.
