Regan Steigleder completed the most impressive season of her brilliant prep career on Friday.

On Monday the West High senior was already being recognized for her work.

Steigleder was named the Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division Athlete of the year after leading Class 3A with 37 goals and adding 11 assists.

The senior forward helped lead West High to a 19-2 record, a Mississippi Division title and a spot in 3A state semifinals.

Steigleder had plenty of help this season.

Senior teammates Emma Cooper, Lexi Shaffer and Abby Zimmerman were all named the Mississippi Division first team while West High coach Daven Rosenthal was named coach of the year.

Cooper scored 27 goals and had a 3A-leading 21 assists while Zimmerman had two goals and nine assists and Shaffer added two goals and three assists from their defensive positions.

City High sophomore Naomi Meurice was named the Valley Division keeper of the year and teammates Grace Brown and Sydney Schroder were both first team Valley Division picks after helping the Little Hawks to a 12-6 record and spot in the regional finals.

Schroder led City High with 11 goals and seven assists while Brown was second on the team with eight goals from her center back spot.

Meurice allowed 13 goals and posted nine shutouts this season while making 81 saves.
