One day after snapping a nine-game losing streak to West High with an 8-1 win over Friday the Little Hawks scored three runs in the sixth inning to rally past Ames 11-10 in a non-conference contest on Saturday at Mercer Park
City High led 8-1 after three innings but needed a three-run sixth to pull ahead after Ames (7-6) scored seven runs in the fourth inning to tie the game at added a run in the sixth.
Machlen Polfliet earned the win working 1/3 innings of scoreless relief as City High improved to 12-5 on the season.
Dylan Deshler went 3-for-4 with a triple two RBI and three runs and Caleb Sass was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs to lead City High.
Travis Reyhons had a triple and drove in three runs, Levi Pugh 2-for-3 and scored two runs and Cole Milder was had a double scored two runs and drove in two runs

West Branch Goes 1-1 at Highland Tournament
West Branch went 1-1 at the Highland Tournament on Saturday defeating Danville 13-2 and falling to Class 2A No. 10 Highland (10-2) 4-3.
The Bears moved to 3-8 on the season with the 1-1 performance on Saturday.
Jaden Hierseman earned the win against Danville allowing two runs on three hits while striking out seven in 4 2/3 innings.
Nine different West Branch players had a hit in the 13-2 five-inning win.
Brett Schiele, Nick Schreiber, Tanner Lukavsky and Trey Eagle all drove in two runs while Schiele and Matt Paulsen each scored twice.
Trey Eagle took the loss against Highland allowing four runs, two earned, on three hits while striking out four in five innings.
Ted Bridges was 2-for-3 with a double and a run while Pete Espensen and Trey Eagle were each 2-for-4 and drove in a run.

Regina Explodes for 21 runs in win in Des Moines
Blake Berns led a Regina offensive outburst on Saturday to help the Regals split a pair of games at the West Des Moines Dowling Catholic Schools Tournament in Des Moines.
Berns finished a single shy of the cycle and drove in eight runs as Regina scored 19 runs over the final three innings of a 21-16 win over Council Bluffs St. Albert.
Class 2A No. 10 Regina closed the day with a 6-3 loss to Fort Dodge St. Edmond to move to 10-5 on the season.
Regina trailed 9-2 after four innings in its opener but exploded for 10 runs in the fifth inning on its way to a season-high 21 runs.
Berns led the way with a double, triple, home run, four runs and eight RBI.
Jayden Kies went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI and Trent Hoogerwerf was 4-for-5 with two RBI and four runs scored.
Ryan Schott added three runs as Regina had 14 hits in the win and had eight different players score a run.
Prescott Arendt picked up the win in relief, working the final 3 2/3 innings.
Against Fort Dodge St. Edmond, Kies had two hits and scored a run and Arendt had two hits and drove in a run to lead Regina.
Hunter Lieberman took the loss allowing five runs on eight hits in four innings.
