West High won seven events on its way to the team title at the Draxton-Stiers/Wilkinson Invitational on Saturday at Kingston Stadium in Cedar Rapids.

The Women of Troy won three of the four field events, a pair of relays and got a school-record performance from Valerie Welch in the 100 hurdles while rolling up 115 points.

Dubuque Hempstead finished second with 94 points while City High was sixth with 74.

Leah Dusterhoft (discus), Chandler Haight (shot put) and Kitra Bell (long jump) won individual title in field events for West High.

On the track Welch added a title in the 100 hurdles in a time of 14.1 and Bailey Nock won the 1,500 and West High won the 4×800 and shuttle hurdle relays.

City High won the 4×100 relay and was second in the 4×200 and sprint medley.

Emma Clark finished second in the 200 for the Little Hawks and Merryl Green was second in the 400 hurdles.
