Girls Soccer Roundup: West High, Clear Creek Amana Remain Unbeaten

Regan Steigleder scored three goals to lead Class 3A third-ranked West High to a 4-0 win over seventh-ranked Dubuque Hempstead in a Mississippi Valley Conference match in Dubuque.
Rachel Olson added a goal as West High improved to 5-0 on the season and 1-0 in MVC play with its third straight shutout.
Steigleder opened the scoring with a goal off an Abby Zimmerman assist in the 16th minute.
Olson gave West High a 2-0 halftime lead with a 25-yard shot one minute later.
Steigleder scored off an Emma Cooper assist in the 50th minute and rounded out the hat-trick with a penalty kick goal in the 72nd minute.
West High JV Wins
The West High junior varsity team earned its first win with a 5-1 win over Dubuque Hempstead.
Pauline Kihura and Lizzie Raley had two goals and Amber Dyson had a goal and an assist to lead West High.
Megan Brown had eight saves in goal.
Clear Creek Amana Remains Unbeaten
Class 2A ninth-ranked Clear Creek Amana remained unbeaten with a 1-0 win over South Tama (1-3) on Thursday in Tama.
Carson Gallagher provided all the scoring with a goal off a Carolina Herrera assist midway through the second half as Clear Creek Amana improved to 5-0.
The Clippers held a 22-0 advantage in shots but could only convert once on the first career goal for Gallagher.
Sarah Johnson posted the shutout in goal, her second in the past three matches.
