McCaffery, Earl Earn MVP Honors at Eastern Iowa All Star Event

The 2017 edition of the Eastern Iowa All Star Games came with a significant Iowa City flare.
West High’s Connor McCaffery and City High’s Kenya Earl each scored 20 points while earning MVP honors in the all-star event held at Johnson Hall at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids on Wednesday.
McCaffery scored 20 points and his West High teammate Devontae Lane added 12 to lead the South squad to a 111-94 win in the boys game.
Austin Ash of Mount Vernon, who will walk on at Iowa, led all scorers with 21 points.
Earl scored a game-high 20 points while sharing MVC honors with Marissa Schroeder of Bellevue Marquette in the girls contest.
Schroder led four North Team players in double figures as the North won 77-63.
Solon’s Josie Durr added six points for the South Team.
