Boys Basketball Roundup: West High Bounces Back With Win at CR Jefferson

West High didn’t waste any time getting back in the win column after a rare loss on Saturday.
Top-ranked West High scored 42 first-half points and raced to an 85-61 win over Cedar Rapids Jefferson in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division contest on Tuesday in Cedar Rapids.
Connor McCaffery had 18 points and Patrick McCaffery added 17 as West High bounced back from a loss to Webster Groves (Mo.) at the Best of the Midwest Showcase on Saturday in Overland Park, Kansas.
Devontae Lane added 12 points on Tuesday as West High improved to 17-2 on the season and 13-1 in MVC games.
Izaya Ono-Fullard and Nate Disterhoft each added nine points for West High and Seybian Sims had seven for the Trojans.
Cedar Rapids Jefferson dropped to 10-10 on the season and 7-8 in MVC play.
Linn-Mar Rallies Past Little Hawks
City High let a two-point halftime lead slip away in a 68-54 loss to Linn-Mar on Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference matchup in Iowa City.
The Little Hawks led by two at halftime but couldn’t hold on to the lead dropping to 4-16 on the season and 3-12 in conference play.
Antonio Turner had a game-high 20 points to lead City High.
Trey Hutcheson had 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead Linn-Mar as the Lions improved to 8-12 on the season and 6-9 in MVC games.
Clear Creek Amana Falls at Marion
Tate Thomsen had a game-high 13 points but it wasn’t enough as Clear Creek Amana fell to Marion 61-53 on Tuesday in Marion.
Cory Siders had 11 points and Tyler Hallett had 10 for the Clippers which dropped to 2-19 on the season.
