Boys Basketball Roundup: West High Rolls Past Kennedy

West High capped a perfect January with another dominating performance on Tuesday.
Class 4A top-ranked West High won its eighth straight game in January 83-53 over Cedar Rapids Kennedy in a Mississippi Valley Conference contest in Cedar Rapids.
Patrick McCaffery had a game-high 25 points as West High improved to 13-1 on the season and 10-1 in MVC play.
Devontae Lane had 16 points and Connor McCaffery added 14 as West High finished January 8-0.
Drake Brewster had 17 points for Cedar Rapids Kennedy which dropped to 10-5 on the season and 7-4 in MVC games.
Clippers Drop Another Close Game
Another game, another close call for Clear Creek Amana.
Clear Creek Amana hung with Williamsburg but couldn’t get over the hump, falling 58-53 in a WAMAC West contest in Tiffin.
Tate Thomsen had a game-high 22 points to lead Clear Creek Amana as the Clippers dropped to 1-15 on the season and 0-12 in WAMAC West play with its 14th straight loss.
Tyler Hallett had 12 points, Cory Siders had eight and Nolan Schwarting added seven for the Clippers.
Williamsburg improved to 4-12 and 2-10 in WAMAC West play.

City High Falls at Prairie
City High fell to Cedar Rapids Prairie 83-65 on Tuesday in Cedar Rapids.
The loss was the third straight for City High and dropped the Little Hawks to 3-13 on the season and 2-9 in Mississippi Valley Conference play.
Chuck Johnson led City High with 15 points while Max Smith Drahos had a game-high 24 to lead Prairie (11-5, 8-3 MVC).
West Delaware Holds Off Solon
Class 3A third-ranked West Delaware remained unbeaten with a 69-57 win over Solon in a WAMAC East showdown in Solon.
West Delaware improved to 15-0 and 10-0 in WAMAC East play while Solon dropped to 10-6 and 7-5 in WAMAC East Division play.
Ben Krutzfeldt led Solon with 16 points while Jacob Coons added 14 for the Spartans.
