Girls Basketball Roundup: Regals Clinch Ninth Straight Conference Title

Regina locked up a share of the River Valley Conference South Division with a win over Northeast on Friday night.
On Saturday the Regals made it official and they did it quickly.
Class 2A top-ranked Regina raced to a 31-4 first quarter lead and locked up its ninth straight conference title with a 76-41 win over Wilton in a RVC South Division tilt at Regina.
Sarah Lehman had a game-high 18 points and Alex Wiese added 16 points and nine rebounds for Regina as the Regals improved to 18-0 on the season and 15-0 in RVC play.
As has been customary for most of the season, the Regals jumped to an early lead scoring 17 of the game’s first 19 points and led 47-18 at the half.
Mary Crompton added nine points and Kennedy Wallace had seven for Regina.
Aubrey Putnam had 14 points for Wilton as the Beavers dropped to 10-8 and 8-8 in RVC play.

City High Wins Second Straight
Just like that City High is working on another winning streak.
After a loss to West High on Tuesday snapped a string of 14 consecutive wins to open the season Class 5A No. 5 City High won a pair of games in less than 24 hours, cruising past Davenport West 63-12 in a non-conference matinee at City High on Saturday.
Ashley Joens had 21 points as City High followed up a Friday night win over Dubuque Hempstead by holding Davenport West to a season low point total.
City High improved to 16-1 on the season while Davenport West dropped to 1-14 with its 11th straight loss.
Aubrey Joens added 16 points for City High and Christina Hora had eight as eight different Little Hawks scored.
