A balanced offensive attack has played a key role in an undefeated start for top-ranked Regina.
On Saturday it was Sarah Lehman’s turn to lead the Regina offense.
Lehman poured in a game-high 22 points as 2A No. 1 Regina improved to 15-0 on the season with a 71-42 win over Solon in a non-conference contest in Solon.
“She was tremendous tonight,” Regina coach Jeff Wallace said of Lehman. “That may be her best game of the year, and she’s had some really, really good games for us. She was just really dialed in and gave us just tremendous effort. And she was really good defensively as well.”
Regina had four players in double figures on Saturday led by Lehman with 22 while scoring at least 70 points for the fourth time in five games.
Mary Crompton and Alex Wiese each had 15 points and Kennedy Wallace added 10 for Regina.
“We wanted to come out here and we wanted to compete hard, we’re not getting caught up in the win margins or anything like that,” Wallace said. “We just wanted to come out and really try to improve and execute. The nice thing about Solon is they threw some different things at us that we hadn't seen really all year, jumping us at the point and we executed that real well.”
Josie Durr led Solon with 17 points while Gabby Marty added eight for the Spartans.
Solon dropped to 5-10 with the loss after falling to Class 4A No. 8 Western Dubuque on Friday.
